A pure sequence is three or more consecutive cards of the same suit with no joker (e.g., 5♥ 6♥ 7♥). An impure sequence uses a joker to fill a gap (e.g., 5♥ Joker 7♥). A set is three or four cards of the same rank but different suits (e.g., 8♥ 8♦ 8♣). Jokers can substitute any card except in a pure sequence.
Elimination & Scoring
When a player cannot form a valid declaration, the points value of their unmatched cards accumulates each round. In 101 Pool, reaching 101 points means elimination. In 201 Pool, the threshold is 201 points. Face cards (J, Q, K, A) carry 10 points each. Number cards carry their face value. Jokers carry 0 points.
Drop Rules
Players may choose to drop out of a round rather than risk high points. A first drop (before drawing any card) costs 20 points in 101 Pool and 25 points in 201 Pool. A middle drop (after drawing at least one card) costs 40 points in 101 Pool and 50 points in 201 Pool. Dropping strategically is a core part of advanced play.
Winning the Game
